Community Campuses
On September 10, 2006 the dream for McLean Bible Church’s future was born when Senior Pastor Lon Solomon cast the vision for the next step in the plan to impact secular Washington for Christ– Community Campuses. The goal is to build a “spiritual beltway” around the city by starting ten Community Campuses that are fully functioning expressions of McLean Bible Church.
We believe these Community Campuses are the best way we can carry out our mission of impacting secular Washington with the message of Jesus Christ, and it is because of our mission that we have decided to take this bold step. MBC Core Value 10 states “to accomplish our mission we must be willing to step out in visionary faith and take risks for God.” We believe that to become the church God wants us to be and to have the impact God wants us to have we must step out in faith and take this risk.
Each campus is a fully functioning church community with live worship, small groups, McLean University classes, excellent ministry for kids and students, a dedicated staff team, and a live satellite broadcast message from Lon. Each campus staff team is led by a Campus Pastor who oversees all campus activities.
We have already launched several campuses. Frontline Arlington launched in January 2007, MBC Loudoun launched in January 2008, Frontline Silver Spring launched in May 2009 and MBC Prince William launched in September 2009. In addition to the physical campuses the Internet Campus launched in October 2007, allowing people from around the world to experience McLean Bible Church and Frontline in an interactive, online setting.
As we continue to expand, we will seek every opportunity God puts before us – regardless of how untraditional, unusual or unexpected – to fulfill the mission He has given us.
