Jill's House is an integrated auxiliary of McLean Bible Church (MBC) and is dedicated to providing care and support to children with special needs and their families through overnight respite and therapy programs.
As as Integrated auxiliary, Jill's House employees are hired by MBC and governed by the same hiring parameters as all other MBC employees. FT - FOUNDATIONS MANAGER
Description of Duties:
Full time position responsible for raising capital and operating revenue needed on an annual basis for Jill’s House (JH) through foundation and corporate grants. Assist in the execution of an approved annual fund development plan utilizing the resources of the Development Director, the JH Board members, other JH staff, volunteers and any contract employees and consultants. Assure there is clear communication and approval of all proposals and letters of inquiry with the Development Director. Assure timely thank you letters and reports are generated, approved and submitted including any mandated reports stipulated with any grants received. Create and maintain pipeline reports on all grant related work for discussion/review with the Development Director. Assist the Development Director and other program and marketing staff with promoting Jill’s House to the communities it serves. God is writing an amazing story at Jill’s House; perhaps Jill’s House is supposed to be the next chapter of YOUR story as well.
Requirements:
Minimum years of relevant experience:
Five years development, sales, or related experience with increasing responsibility for revenue generation, particularly through written proposals
Education:
1. Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of coursework and experience
2. Prefer advanced degree or CFRE
Other Skills:
Strong communication and organizational skills with at least two years leadership experience in managing grants fund raising for an organization. Along with revenue generation, relationship building, mature judgment and sound decision making skills associated with the processes and people connected to grants from foundations and corporations; excellent written communication skills and proven team building skills. Flexibility for evenings/weekends required.

FT or PT REGISTERED NURSE
What It Is:
The RN will lead a group of children through activities throughout Jill’s House while serving as the on-duty go-to person for any medical needs or medication administration. One moment, you may be on the playground with your group; another moment, you may be singing in the Music Room or reading books to children. All nurses will report to the RN. Jill’s House will provide weekend-only respite care as it opens. RNs will likely work two eight- or twelve-hour shifts each weekend. If you feel a particular call from God to work with children with special needs and to love them as Jesus does – and have a demonstrated track record of professional excellence, we would love to talk with you. Description of Duties:
The primary responsibility of the RN is to manage the complete range of nursing care needs of children during their respite stay at Jill’s House. Assess the individual child’s health condition upon intake and participate in the development of the child’s Individualized Service Plan (ISP). Supervise certified nursing assistants and other medical personnel’s care of children and instruct staff on proper charting of routine care in association with the various ISPs. Participate in administrative team meetings as requested by program services manager and assist with staff training as required.
Requirements:
Minimum years of relevant experience: A baccalaureate degree and three years of professional nursing experience working with children of varying disabilities.
1. Master’s degree in Nursing Administration or related field and/or
2. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with current, active and unrestricted nursing license in the state of Virginia
Must have pediatric nursing experience with an understanding of the complex medical and medication needs of children with multiple disabilities. Ability to feed via tubes and possess ability to suction if needed. Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate medical records and charting systems for staff. Ability to promote good relationships with the families of children with special needs to ensure a healthy environment for all children. Looking for a nurse with excellent communication skills along with public speaking and counseling ability. Flexibility for evenings/weekends required.

Position reports to Registered Nurse and assist assigned children with daily living and fundamental tasks during their stay at Jill’s House. Support Jill’s House staff and volunteers in the care of all assigned children. Maintain children’s charts and reports to assure appropriate tracking of each child’s physical, mental and emotional behavior in association with their Individual Service Plans (ISP) and to assist with discharge reports. Looking for individual with a passion for working with children and youth who have various disabilities.
Requirements:
Minimum years of relevant experience: Two years of prior Nursing Home or private duty CNA experience.
Education/Training:
Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate for accredited program along with relevant experience. This position requires experience and previous exposure to caring for children with physical, emotional and/or intellectual disabilities. Skills in crisis intervention and the ability to adapt to changing environment and circumstance. Flexibility for evenings/weekends required.

Position reports to Registered Nurse and is responsible for providing general care and supervision of the direct, basic care of assigned children during their respite stay at Jill’s house. Observes, records and reports to staff RN, any changes in symptoms, conditions and/or behavior of child that could be related to disability, medication interactions or medication management. Monitors medications to ensure adequate accountability measures taken when medications are received, administered and at change of shift. Assist with staff training sessions as requested by supervisor. Provide support and advice to families as needed on Intake and Discharge.
Requirements:
Minimum years of relevant experience: 2 years working with children of varying disabilities in various medical facility settings as an LPN /Vocational Nurse.
Education:
A current license to practice as a practical/vocational nurse specific to the State of Virginia and currently certified in CPR and First Aide.
Individual must have the ability to remain calm, focused and directive; anticipate medical or nursing care problems and provide solutions prior to crisis or problem arises. Interdisciplinary team participant. Looking for individual with strong supervisory skills, calm in crisis situations, confidence in nursing skills related to caring for children with varying disabilities. The Child Care Specialist is the face of Jill’s House to a group of children each weekend. The Child Care Specialist will lead a group of 2-4 children through activities throughout Jill’s House. Child Care Specialists would likely work two eight- or twelve-hour shifts each weekend. Description of Duties:
Position reports to Child Care Supervisor and is responsible for the guidance and supervision of the children to whom they are assigned. Perform a combination of basic care, assistance with activities of daily living as indicated and activity guidance duties in safe, nurturing environment. Under the direction of a Child Care Supervisor, work with assigned children according to their Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and encourage their activity and participation while promoting a positive experience for all assigned children.
Requirements: Minimum years of relevant experience: A high school graduate or have a General Education Development Certificate (G.E.D.) with at least six months successful experience in working directly with children. Flexibility for evenings/weekends required.
Education:
1. Baccalaureate degree in human services; OR
2. An associate’s degree and three months experience working with disabled children

Develop, adapt and participate in water related activities, with specific children assigned to designated time at Jill’s House pool. Assure direct one to one supervision is being followed as directed by child care supervisor, while in child is in the water.
Requirements:
Minimum years of relevant experience: 2 years working with children of varying disabilities; prefer therapeutic recreation experience in pool
Certified Water Safety instructor and Senior lifeguard Certification. Flexibility for evenings/weekends required.
Education:
1. High school diploma or a General Education Development Certificate (G.E.D.) and a minimum of six month working with children of varying disabilities as part of an adaptive water instructor; OR
