Access Friendship Club & Volunteer Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:

Full-time Sunday-Thursday Position

Seeking someone who can take initiative, servant leadership, comfort level with handling challenging behaviors and great relational skills.

Oversees the operations of the Friendship Club programming at the Tysons Campus and running of said program.  Serve as a resource to church leaders as an inclusionary specialist in teens and adult ministries whenever assistance is needed with adapting or modifying programs.  Manages recruitment and intake of incoming volunteers for Access ministry as well as coordinating training and orientation.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Description

  1. Oversee development of Friendship Club curriculum with modifications and adaptations for varying ability levels

  2. Manage Access Friendship Club classroom space, oversee ordering of supplies and all materials

  3. Conduct intake meetings with incoming families

  4.Coordinate volunteer’s involvement in the ministry

  5  Care for and disciple lead volunteers, equipping them for the ministry

  6    Care for and disciple families in Friendship Club intentionally

  7   Collaborate with Soul Sisters(FC ladies) and BibleBros(FC men)

  8.    Recruitment of new volunteers in collaboration with Access team

  9.     Onboarding new volunteers for all campuses

10    All other duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

1.   Minimum years of relevant experience: 2-3 years

2.   Education: Bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalent work experience with disability  community

3.   License/Commission/Ordination: not required

4.   Knowledge: Disability awareness, management skills, ministry development

5.   Flexibility for evenings/weekends:  __X__yes     _______no

6.   Computer applications: Microsoft Office, Outlook and Fellowship 1
