Kid’s Quest Elementary Ministry Manager

Part Time

Position summary: Part time position at 30 hours a week to coordinate Kid’s Quest elementary ministry and manage large group and small group coordinators

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Model the character of Christ to all employees, volunteers, leaders and congregants
  • Commitment to daily prayer, Bible reading and sharing the Gospel regularly
  • Demonstrate a care/grow/disciple approach to all assigned staff and their volunteers
  • Supervise Sunday elementary programming and manage mid-week elementary ministry duties
  • Provide leadership for all elementary coordinators
  • Mid-week responsibilities include:
    • Manage, assist elementary coordinators during mid-week
    • Attend weekly staff prayer, team meetings and occasional trainings
    • Edit Elementary large group and small group curriculum and make WebCRD orders as needed, prepare slides in ProPresenter for large group
    • Placement of all weekly elementary supply order for all KQ Sunday services for "bin day”
    • Ensure safety and cleanliness, proper functionality of all elementary areas (supply, equipment (A/V), organized spaces, forms etc.)
    • Implement effective, consistent communication with elementary volunteers and families
    • Lead Elementary Volunteer Development program: recruiting, interviewing, CGD plan, create orientation and training class materials
    • Conduct volunteer orientation and training classes for Elementary volunteers
    • Assure proper volunteer and kids’ assignment in Ministry Platform (MP) for all elementary groups
    • Communicate with KQ operations manager on processing volunteer requirements in MP
    • Organize kid’s baptism classes, Kid Conversations and help with administrative work
    • Manage, assist with special Kid’s Quest events throughout the year
    • Collaborate with Access ministry: buddy program, staff & volunteer training with children with disabilities
    • Brainstorm and develop creative ideas for LG program: worship, object lessons, preaching, skits/acts, videos, etc.
    • Brainstorm and develop special events for children and familieswith supervisor and elementary coordinators coordinator
    • Work with other ministry representatives to schedule them for large group preaching and worship
    • Write short-term and long-term goals that are aligned with MBC mission and vision and KQ objectives with KQ elementary coordinators
    • Plan, organize, execute KQ Summer Camp
    • Assist with developing parent resources for elementary families
    • Approves ADP timesheets for assigned staff, assure elementary coordinators’ training requirements are met
  • Sunday responsibilities include:
    • Manage elementary team during Sunday AM operations
    • Help coordinate sufficient area coverage within Kid’s Quest elementary ministry locations during all services
    • Step in to fill in various roles as needed either in large group or small group
    • Help maintain a safe and clean learning environment for elementary children ministry areas
    • Manage Set-up/close down/clean-up elementary Kid’s Quest areas
    • Assist coordinators, parents, volunteer with requests or concerns

Education Skills and Abilities:

  • Active and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by action, attitude, behavior, Scripture knowledge and understanding
  • A passion for children’s ministry and to see families grow in their faith together
  • Previous experience with management and administration of large church Children’s Ministries or Family Ministries
  • Experience in recruiting, motivating, equipping, and developing volunteer leaders to minister to children and families
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)with all parties involved
  • Competency with basic computer software (Excel, Word, Power Point etc.), database experience and the willingness to learn new software systems (Ministry Platform, Planning Center, Service U, others)
  • Great organizational skills, people skills, problem solving skills, conflict management skills, creativity
  • Reliable, team player, professional in all area of conduct, teachable, organized, flexible, patient
  • Approved background check and finger printing
