Covenant House Ministry

Our purpose is to encourage the young adults living at the Covenant House DC Crisis Center by sharing God's promise of salvation through his son Jesus Christ. On Sunday evenings, we have the privilege of sharing God’s word with some of the youth at the Covenant House. It is completely voluntary for the youth to participate, and many are eager to do so. Some of the youth are Christians, while others have different faiths and beliefs. Though we support the youth and the Covenant House Crisis Center in practical ways through donations, food, and encouragement, the most important thing we can do for the youth and staff is to share the Good News of Christ, showing them they can have eternal life in heaven through Christ.

VOLUNTEERS - Required Consent & Abuse Prevention

First-time volunteers will not be required to complete these prior to their first time, but to continue serving we will have to complete these requirements.

The young men and women who live at CH find themselves in extremely difficult, and often unsafe, life circumstances. In order to better protect the children at CH Crisis Centers across the country, CH has implemented new child protection policies.

As a result, CH has asked all their staff and volunteers to participate in an online Abuse Prevention Training and to pass the Abuse Prevention Exam (instructions from CH below). They have also required staff and volunteers to undergo a background check.

While these may seem cumbersome, these reflect CH's continued efforts to protect the kids they care for. We ask that if you would like to continue to serve the youth at CH, to please complete training & exam, as well as the consent form for CH to perform a background check on you.

Step 1: Complete Background Check Consent Form
