Kid's Quest

Kid’s Quest offers programs for newborn through fifth Grade during service times at most MBC campuses. We’re igniting the future for Christ by helping children discover God in a personal way. At Kid’s Quest, we “THINK ORANGE” because when the church and family work together, we have a greater impact on a child’s spiritual growth. It is our prayer that we help lay a solid foundation of truth that will guide children in their lifelong quest to become fully devoted followers of Christ.

Kid's Quest at Montgomery County

We are so excited about Kid’s Quest at MBC Montgomery County and anticipate the Lord to continue to do great things in the lives of kids and parents! Our program from nursery to 5th grade has staff and volunteers with a heart for God and a desire to come alongside the parents in training this next generation for the Lord. Our goal is to develop fully devoted followers of Christ.

Our vision is for our kids to truly grasp and understand the message of the gospel, and to put their faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. It is our prayer that we are helping lay a solid foundation of truth that will last the rest of their lives.

Nursery/Toddler

Our prayer is that our infant and toddler areas will be safe places where young children and their families can clearly see the love of Christ.

Infants are held, comforted, fed, and played with by caring volunteers. Our littlest ones also join in a group worship time.

Toddlers engage in play time, as well as activities from our First Look Curriculum. Everything is designed to help them learn that “God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever.” Both one-year-olds and two-year-olds participate in age appropriate worship, memory verse, and Bible Story times; older toddlers also enjoy an art activity.

Preschool

The First Look Preschool curriculum is designed to teach one key truth each month. Lessons and activities engage all five senses. The goal is for children to know before age 5 that:

  • God made me
  • God loves me
  • Jesus wants to be my friend forever!

Watch the First Look Vision Videos.

We strive to:

  • Make It Fun: activity to introduce the month’s key truth
  • Make It True: Bible story, worship and Scripture memory
  • Make It Stick: activity to teach the key truth
  • Make It Real: lesson application and time for prayer
Elementary

Elementary Kid’s Quest helps kids discover and embrace a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by strengthening their foundation in the Bible and helping them become a witness to their peers.

We use 252 Basics, modeled after Luke 2:52, which is built around three basic truths every child should embrace:

  • I need to make the wise choice.
  • I can trust God no matter what.
  • I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

At Kid’s Quest Montgomery County, we believe strongly in partnering with parents in discipling their kids. At the end of every Sunday class, kids receive God Time cards and Family Cards each week to spend time reading the Bible and talking to God at home. These are great in helping you guide your kids through spiritual discussions at home and reinforce what we talk about each week in Kid’s Quest.

Elementary kids experience:

  1. Activity Time: fun games and activities
  2. Large & Small Groups: Lesson application, discussion, activities, crafts, and prayer.
  3. Family Cards: Parents/guardians receive cards to discuss key concepts at home.

Sarah was born and raised in Gaithersburg, MD until the age of 11 when she and her family moved to the suburbs of Philadelphia. However, God brought her back to DC when she attended American University, getting her degree in Public Communication and Political Science. It was through her time with the Gathering college ministry, that God changed Sarah’s heart forever and she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. During her last two years in college, Sarah worked with the Operations team at Kid’s Quest Tysons until she graduated in 2011. After graduation, Sarah spent 9 months in California for a student ministry internship. During that time away, God revealed to her that He had given her a heart and passion for reaching DC with the Gospel, specifically with children and their families. Sarah and her husband Thomas feel so blessed to be a part of MBC Montgomery County and love serving alongside the body of Christ here!
