Kid's Quest

Kid’s Quest offers programs for newborn through fifth Grade during service times at most MBC campuses. We’re igniting the future for Christ by helping children discover God in a personal way. At Kid’s Quest, we “THINK ORANGE” because when the church and family work together, we have a greater impact on a child’s spiritual growth. It is our prayer that we help lay a solid foundation of truth that will guide children in their lifelong quest to become fully devoted followers of Christ.

Kid's Quest at Prince William

We are so excited about Kid’s Quest at MBC Prince William and anticipate the Lord to continue to do great things in the lives of kids and parents! Our program from nursery through 5th grade. We have staff and volunteers with a heart for God and a desire to come alongside the parents in training this next generation for the Lord. Our goal is to develop fully devoted followers of Christ.

Our vision is for our kids to truly grasp and understand the message of the gospel, and to put their faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. It is our prayer that we are helping lay a solid foundation of truth that will last the rest of their lives.

Nursery/Toddler

Our mission is to support parents/guardians in their children’s spiritual growth by providing a safe, nurturing environment for infants and toddlers:

Infants/Crawlers – 0 - 11 months
Walkers/Hikers –12 - 23 months
Trailblazers – 24 months - 3 years

Trailblazers uses a Bible-based curriculum from Gospel Light. Parents/guardians receive a weekly take-home to help reinforce the day's lessons.

PreSchool

3 Years - Pre-Kindergarten

Our mission is to help preschool children discover who God is and to guide them to know, love and follow Him. The curriculum is written by our Kid’s Quest Preschool Team.

Children hear the Bible story for the day using The Beginner's Bible. Puppets, storytellers, music, discussion, crafts, and activities help bring the lesson to life. Parents receive a take-home card to review the lesson.

Elementary

Kindergarten - 5th Grade

Elementary Kid’s Quest helps kids discover and embrace a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by strengthening their foundation in the Bible and helping them become a witness to their peers.

We use 252 Basics, modeled after Luke 2:52, which is built around three basic truths every child should embrace:

  • I need to make the wise choice.
  • I can trust God no matter what.
  • I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

At the end of class, children receive God Time cards each week to spend time reading the Bible and talking to God at home.

Elementary kids experience:

  1. Activity Time: fun games and activities
  2. Large & Small Groups: Lesson application, discussion, activities, crafts, and prayer.
  3. Family Cards: Parents/guardians receive cards to discuss key concepts at home.

Mary began working at MBC in May 1996. She received a BS in Home Economics Education from Messiah College. Mary’s ministry experience before becoming the Kid’s Quest Director at MBC PW includes being a small group leader, junior high ministry volunteer, children’s church leader, Sunday School teacher, and volunteer coordinator for preschool through 1st grade. Because of how Mary has seen God work in her own life as a child, she is passionate about seeing children begin to understand who God is and how much He loves them. Mary loves seeing how God changes each one of us, children and adults, through His word, through godly relationships and through serving Him. Mary and her husband, David have lived in the same house in Herndon for 28 years! They have three living daughters who are married to godly men, seven delightful grandchildren and a dear son in Heaven.
