Military Operation Kindness Ministry

Our mission is to make an impact on the military and their families in the greater Washington, D.C. area with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. We want to support the many military members and their families who attend MBC as well as to reach out to those who reside in the area but are non-believers.

Operation Kindness, which is part of our broader Military Ministry at MBC, supports our deployed service members in Afghanistan through monthly care packages and direct interaction with the WIA in local military hospitals and their visiting families. The ministry has been active for 9 years and has sent more than 90,000 lbs (45 tons!) of items in their monthly care packages to contact chaplains and deployed family members of MBC.  Each box contains a bible, tracts, personal letters, and an invitation to our internet campus in addition to the snacks, toiletries, coffee, etc.

Thank you for remembering to support our service members!

Packing Nights

The most volunteer intensive activity within the Military Ministry.  Volunteers typically pack 50-60 boxes (30 lbs each) containing bibles/spiritual material, toiletries, socks, coffee, snacks, sports equipment, personal notes, etc. for our deployed service members.  The care packages are sent to chaplain contacts who use them in their ministry to service members in more remote areas of Afghanistan.
