We are thankful and excited about your interest in Stephen Ministry. We hope that you prayerfully consider taking the training and serving the Lord as a Stephen Minister here at MBC Tysons. Even though this is a serious commitment of time and energy, our experience as Stephen Ministers is that the blessings received far outweigh the costs. The training will help you learn how to care for others going through a life crisis and help you focus your God-given gifts and passion for service. May God bless you!

MBC Membership is required to serve as a Stephen Minister.
If you are not already a member, you will need to attend an upcoming Membership Orientation and complete the requirements for membership. In preparation, we encourage you to read MBC's What We Teach document. You do not have to be a member of MBC before applying. However, you must become a member before training is completed.
When filling out the membership application, write STEPHEN MINISTER in the top right hand corner to expedite the Elder interview process. If you have attended the Membership Orientation in the past, but did not become a member, the Elders require that you attend the orientation again if it has been more than a year.
The Fall 2017 training is now closed. All applications are now for enrollment in the Fall 2018 training class. If you would like to find out more about the ministry before the April/May recruitment period, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We'd welcome the opportunity to answer your questions and share information about the joy of becoming and serving as a Stephen Minister at McLean Bible Church.
Once your application, background check form and all three reference forms are received, you will be scheduled for an interview. A Stephen Ministry leader will call or email you to arrange a mutually convenient time. The interviews will be done at MBC Tysons and Prince William campus respectively, and last about 30 minutes. They will take place on Sundays or during the week as scheduled.
You need to ask three people who are not family members to fill out the online reference forms. At least some of your references should be people who know your spiritual walk with the Lord.
If your references do not have an internet connection, contact the Stephen Ministry leaders to make other arrangements.
