DINNER & MOVIE REVIEW is an outreach ministry which provides a forum to uniquely share the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ through comparison and discussion of the roles, characters, and plots of both secular and Christian-themed movies.
Event Sponsored by the Singles Ministry (mcleanbible.org/connect/focus) and
Movies at MBC (facebook.com/MoviesatMBC)
Open to Single & Married Adults
The Movie Team facilitates this event by hosting a Saturday evening covered dish dinner and movie review at the Tysons Campus in the Rock Gym. The mission of the Movie Team is to intentionally provide a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guests to best experience the movie event as the dinner is served, the movie is watched, and the spiritual analysis presentation is given, followed by table discussion with relevant questions about the film. Greeting, Table Decorating, Food, Beverage, AV, Popcorn, and Logistics Support are the primary functions of the team captains with assisting volunteers.
The movies or movie clips shown here (Singles Ministry Sponsored Event) may not represent the core values of McLean Bible Church but are intended to facilitate group discussion about Biblical truths or themes. McLean Bible Church is not recommending the movie or endorsing any of its content.
Entrance is a covered dish, per person, (serving size of 6-8) prepared and ready-to-serve, so it can be placed on the serving tables immediately. No need to bring utensils; we provide them.
We cannot accept items that appear to have been opened or partially consumed for health/hygiene reasons.
We recommend the following:
- meat platters (pre-cut; e.g. ham, meatloaf, pork)
- baked or fried chicken (pre-cut)
- fully-baked entrees (e.g. lasagna; found in most supermarkets)
- chili or stews
- vegetable side dishes
- party-sized appetizers (e.g. veggies, fruit, and finger food)
- salads (e.g. fresh green and pasta)
- sandwich platters, pizza
- ethnic dishes (e.g. Oriental; Mexican; Italian)
- your own specialty dish
Not recommended: frozen items, drinks, chips, pretzels, and large uncut fruit. Thank you for your cooperation so that all may enjoy.
ALSO: We strongly recommend bringing a jacket or sweater, as the room tends to chill after the movie begins.
See you there!
