Who is invited to High School Beach Week? Rising 9th graders to graduating seniors. You do not have to attend McLean Bible Church to come to camp. Friends are welcome!
When does registration close? Registration will close on Sunday, June 2 at midnight.
The $499 cost per student for camp is too expensive for me and my family, but I really want to go. What should I do? Finances should never be a hindrance or reason for not signing up. We ask that each student contribute to the cost of camp, as this will allow us to stretch aid to more families. For Beach Week, we ask for the minimum amount of $175/student. This year, there is an application to request financial aid for Beach Week. Once this application is submitted, your campus pastor/campus staff will review the application and will contact you regarding a promo code to register for camp at a discounted cost. Click here to access the scholarship application.
What does my payment for camp cover? Your registration payment pays for all activities, food, and transportation to Myrtle Beach. You will need extra money for a fast food lunch stop on the way down AND a fast food dinner stop on the way back. You may also wish to bring additional money for shopping, snacks, or optional beach activities.
What should I pack? Modest bathing suit, money for lunch/dinner on the way, sunscreen, toiletries, sandals, warm weather clothes, beach towel, Bible, notebook, pen, water bottle, your favorite snack etc.
What if I want to arrive late or leave camp early? All early/late arrivals must be coordinated by student’s parents, and can be indicated on the registration online form. While there may be some volunteers who come down late or leave early, we cannot guarantee we will be able to secure a late/early ride for you/your student.
What is the rooming situation at camp? We will be staying in multi-bedroom suites, sleeping 8-12 people. We will assign rooms based on gender and grade. Each room will have 1-2 adult room leaders. The online registration allows you to request roommates. We will do our best to accommodate all requests, but cannot guarantee that all requests will be met.
What is the schedule like? Students normally wake up and eat breakfast between 8-9 am, program/devotions from 9-11 am, lunch, then free time until around 4 or 5 pm. Then we will have various evening activities followed by a night program.
I need to bring medication to camp. Will there be a nurse onsite? Yes. We will have a nurse with us at camp. You are welcome to carry your own medications and administer them yourself, or you may give instructions to our nurse during check-in on Saturday morning and she will take care of you.
Can I bring my cell phone, iPad, etc? We strongly recommend that you leave all valuables, including phones, portable electronics, and game devices at home to avoid damage and loss. If you do bring them, they will be your own responsibility and risk
The online registration asks for me to provide insurance information, but I do not have insurance. Can I still attend camp? Yes. We ask for your insurance information in case of an emergency. If you cannot provide this information, that is okay. Please just be sure to have an accurate emergency contact number so we may get hold of someone in the event of injury.
