Church Planting Primer - Tysons

New City Network is the church planting ministry of McLean Bible Church, and we are in our third year of partnering with new churches in the DC metro, Baltimore, and even internationally! Our desire is to equip the members and attendees of McLean Bible Church to see the potential for their involvement in church planting and to provide practical ways to support the work of starting new churches.

If you've ever had the following questions, this course is for you, and it will be an opportunity to dialogue about these topics:

Why do we need more churches? Don't we have enough?

Do you really want people to leave MBC and join other churches?

How can I support the work of church planting?

What does the Bible say about starting new churches?

Church history teaches us that church planting is the means by which the Gospel spreads throughout the world. The Book of Acts reveals to us how Christianity rapidly changed from a regional uprising to a worldwide movement through the multiplication of small churches. Today, with more than 80% of evangelical churches in America plateauing or declining and more than 9,000 churches closing annually, new churches are desperately needed.

This half-day workshop will give you a clear understanding of the scriptural rationale and the practical ways anyone can be involved in evangelistic church planting.

The course will cover the following topics:

Part One: A Biblical Rationale for Church Planting

Part Two: The Need for New Churches

Part Three: How New Churches Begin

Part Four: How Ordinary Christians Can Begin New Churches
