Devouring the Word of God | Loudoun

Dan Sutherland taught us this passage, which can be difficult to swallow in today's society. He asked us:

  • —How do I live in this fallen world within the authority structures that are in my life?
  • —Particularly, how do I live within authority structures that are led by unbelievers, people who do not share my worldview?

And he pointed out that:

  • —God has ordained structures. He is not an anarchist.
  • —This is for the typical situation, not the extreme.

1 Peter 3:8-4:6

Todd Konkel led us through 1 Peter 3:8-4:6, pointing out that Peter’s main emphasis in this letter is on Christian conduct amid persecution. This section of 1 Peter provides plenty of instruction on how to conduct ourselves.

Week 6 First Peter
1 Peter 4:7-5:14

Todd Konkel closed out the book of First Peter with "Another Ten Commandments" in 4:7-19, shepherding the flock 5:1-4, humility in suffering 5:5-7, watchfulness in suffering 5:8-9, the sustaining grace of God 5:10-11, and farewell and peace 5:12-14.
