Kid's Quest Missions

From now through December 16, we're supporting Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse International Relief. Samaritan's Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world.

Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. Since 1993, more than 100 million shoe;boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered to over 130 countries around the world. While these numbers sound like a lot, this represents just 1% of the total population of children in the world. The shoe box is a one-time gift as new children are selected each year to receive this gift.

Here's how your family can get involved:

PRAY for God to touch the hearts of the children who will receive our gifts and hear the Good News of God’s best gift, His son, Jesus Christ.

DROP OFF box supplies at Kid’s Quest check-in stations:
•    School Supplies: Top needs are crayons, markers, child scissors, glue sticks, pens and pencils.

•    Toiletries: Top needs are toothbrushes, soap bars, flip flops, hair brushes & hair accessories, handkerchiefs, and sunglasses. Please do not give used items, liquids, vitamins, medications, lotions or aerosol cans.

•    Other supplies: Top needs are dolls, deflated soccer ball with pump, stuffed animal, small cars, musical instruments, puzzles, jump ropes, crafts, etc.

GIVE offering to help cover the shipping of the boxes overseas ($7 each). Preschool offering containers are at classroom doors. Elementary offering containers are in Large Group.

ASSEMBLE gift-filled boxes at the Christmas Village on December 11-16. The Operation Christmas Child room will be in room 1605 on the first floor by the Coffee Shop. This is a great hands-on service project for the whole family! If you have questions, contact Kim Slye at kim.slye@mcleanbible.org or 703-770-2903.
