Allan and Pamela Gardner

Originally from Australia, Allan and Pam Gardner have been actively involved in worldwide Christian ministry for 65 years!  Married almost 63 years, they began their ministry together in Australia in the 1950's through Open Air Campaigners.  Over the next few years, the Lord led them on an adventure that took them from Australia to Chicago (as students at Moody Bible Institute) then back to Australia, then to Virginia to teach at Washington Bible College (WBC) in DC, while working with Ambassadors for Christ International (AFCI).

While teaching at WBC, Allan voluntarily preached periodically at a young local church that was without a head pastor.  Allan was then later formally invited to accept the role of head pastor at this small church - McLean Bible Church!  Allan spent the next decade, from 1970-1980, pastoring the growing congregation.  During those formative years at MBC, he and Pam saw the church grow to over 600 congregants and continued to foster a biblical obedience to global missions, begun by the MBC founding families, that has continued until this day.   In 1980, he returned as staff to AFCI and in 1991, became their International Director.  While in this position, Allan ministered in the field and oversaw the development and expansion of AFCI’s international work.  Traveling to well over 50 countries, Allan has spoken at conferences in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, the West Indies, Africa, Central America, North America, and the South Pacific.

In September 2002, he relinquished the leadership of the ministry to become AFCI's International Ministry Advisor.  In this position he continues to travel extensively, taking advantage of the many invitations to preach and teach in both church and pastor training conferences.  Allan is able to continue using his experience to encourage, guide and challenge AFCI national workers around the world.

Allan and Pam have three children; Kym, Andrea and Scott.  Kym teaches in a Christian school in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and has three children, and Scott is serving with AFCI in Atlanta, Georgia, as the Media Services Manager.  The Gardner’s only daughter, Andrea, was born with special needs.  In caring for Andrea, the Gardner’s have experienced tremendous spiritual trauma and triumph.  Pam wrote about their experience in a book called Distressed But Not Destroyed.  It honestly tells the story of Andrea, her impact on their family and ministry, and how they learned to deal with adversity God’s way.  Originally published by Pilot books, it’s available on Amazon and has been translated into Romanian, and Spanish, with a Chinese edition expected to be released in 2018.  The Gardner's story and ministry have and continue to impact many for Christ and their contribution to MBC's spiritual history will not be forgotten.

MBC History:  Allan was lead pastor at MBC from 1970-1980

Prayer request: For wisdom in effectively using their time, energy and resources as they continue using their experience to advise, train and influence emerging leaders both within and outside of Ambassadors for Christ International
