Bailey and Denise Marks

Bailey and Denise have served on the staff of Cru for 33 years, 31 of them focused outside the United States.  They have served in the campus ministry in the Ivy League and started an effective AIDS prevention ministry, CrossRoads, which helped share the Gospel with approximately 12 million people!  The Marks have worked in cities around the world for the last five years.  The Marks then led an initiative in Washington, DC in partnership with National Community Church called Freshmen of the City; a strategy to help new city entrants adjust to the city, live their faith, and share it for a life-time.  Approximately 1,000 “millennials” have graduated from Freshmen of the City.  Denise has a Masters in Communications while Bailey has an MBA.

In 2013, the Marks helped lead an initiative called The London Lab.  “The Lab” was an effort to integrate existing Cru strategies with local churches and cause them to direct their efforts toward reaching the whole city.  The environment was that of a laboratory; asking God to teach and affording participants the opportunity to learn from London leaders and European city practitioners.  In 2013, the Agape Leadership Team (Cru’s leadership team for Europe) initiated the re-alignment of its ministries to focus on cities, including a challenge to the Marks to join the leadership team, move to London and lead the initiative.

Agape Europe has the goal of being in 100 European cities by 2020.  While most of its staff live and work in cities, an integrated approach is needed.  Three city models in Europe with an intense focus on London is the immediate goal.  This requires Bailey and Denise to work at three levels: building a model in London, traveling to the 20 countries of Agape Europe to resource its national leadership with a city focus and contribute to the overall direction of Agape Europe.

Bailey and Denise have two children; Wade, who is married to Avery, and Garrett.  Please feel free to contact us anytime at [email protected].  Thank you for your partnership.
