Roger and Jennifer Anderson
As an undergraduate student at the University of Delaware, Roger got involved with the InterVarsity chapter. He provided leadership for that chapter and later, in grad school at UNC-Chapel Hill, was involved in the leadership of both the undergraduate and grad/faculty groups. This helped Roger to grow as a leader. He joined staff in 1973 and recently celebrated 45 years of ministry! He currently leads national staff and works to mentor and disciple key leaders into the ministry. When Jennifer married Roger in 1979, she “married” into the ministry of InterVarsity. Along with the work of the Holy Spirit, she can easily attribute her growth as a Christian to the solid biblical teaching of the ministry of InterVarsity.
In the 1980s, when the Andersons lived in Richmond, Virginia, Jennifer’s role with InterVarsity included hosting InterVarsity staff in their home; serving countless meals and snacks for InterVarsity events; traveling and participating in conferences for InterVarsity staff and students; and praying for, meeting with, and encouraging InterVarsity staff and staff spouses. In 1988, they moved to Madison, Wisconsin, to be part of InterVarsity’s National Service Center (NSC). Once their three children were in school, Jennifer began working a part time as an NSC receptionist, where she used her writing and proofreading skills on special projects. After 10 years of being part time, God called her to begin full time ministry as a member of the Editorial Team. She loves using her background in journalism to benefit InterVarsity’s ministry which brings the Gospel to college and university students and faculty!
God has blessed the Andersons in so many ways over these decades and has continued to provide meaningful work as they continue to do Kingdom work through mentoring, discipleship and communications.
